Volunteer Opportunity: Event Coordinator (Hybrid – St. John's, NL)
Help Us Bring Awareness to Life: Join The Heather Cutler Foundation as a Volunteer Event Coordinator and lead the planning and execution of both virtual and in-person awareness events that educate, unite, and mobilize communities across Canada.
From panel discussions to outreach booths, your creativity and coordination will help ensure our message reaches more Canadians — especially in underserved regions — and that every event reflects the urgency, compassion, and courage at the heart of our mission.
Why Join Us?
At The Heather Cutler Foundation, we know that every conversation matters. Founded in memory of Heather Cutler, a nurse and mother whose journey exposed the deep gaps in pancreatic cancer care, we are committed to building a national movement for equity and action. Our events are a key part of that mission — and your role will bring them to life.
Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Logistics: Coordinate all aspects of events (venue booking, scheduling, permits, volunteer staffing, vendor coordination).
- Virtual Event Management: Assist with tech setup, speaker coordination, and promotion for webinars, panels, and digital campaigns.
- Outreach & Promotion: Collaborate with our team to spread the word online and in local communities.
- Day-of Coordination: Be the point person on the ground (or in the virtual room) to ensure events run smoothly and reflect our values.
- Post-Event Follow-Up: Help evaluate success, gather feedback, and document learnings for future events.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Experience in planning or supporting events (volunteer or professional)
- Comfortable using digital tools (e.g. Zoom, Google Drive, Canva, social platforms)
- Collaborative, self-motivated, and responsive
- Excellent communication and time management
- Passion for advocacy, health equity, or nonprofit work
Experience with healthcare-related events is a bonus, not a requirement.
