Federal petition e-6492 has now been formally presented in the House of Commons. This means the issue has been placed on the official parliamentary record and the Government of Canada has 45 days to provide a written response. We are grateful to Tom Osborne for presenting the petition and helping bring the voices behind this campaign forward at the national level.

This milestone reflects what can happen when people come together around a shared goal. Over the past year, thousands of Canadians added their names to call for stronger national attention on pancreatic cancer. What began as a small online effort focused on empowering patients and families with information and advocacy tools grew into a coordinated national campaign — and ultimately into one of the first federal petitions in Canada dedicated specifically to pancreatic cancer.

The work does not stop here. This petition has always been about ensuring that patients and families across Canada have access to timely information, appropriate testing, and awareness of care options. Across the country, there is growing public conversation around improving outcomes through earlier detection, access to biomarker testing, and increased awareness of clinical trials. Continued education, collaboration, and engagement from the public and healthcare community remain essential.

We will share updates as soon as the federal government tables its official response. In the meantime, thank you for helping bring this issue to Parliament and for continuing to raise awareness in your communities. Every signature, share, and conversation has helped move this forward.
