FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
St. John’s, NL — January 13, 2026 - The Heather Cutler Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to improving pancreatic cancer care and outcomes across Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nazanin Aboozari and Moshfeka Akhter to its Board of Directors.
Nazanin and Moshfeka first became involved with the Foundation through NVOLVE, a program run by the Community Sector Council of Newfoundland and Labrador that introduces newcomers to volunteer positions within local organizations. They also participated in the Thriving Non-Profits cohort with Executive Director Christopher Cutler, gaining experience in revenue diversification, organizational strategy, and governance practices.
Nazanin brings extensive experience in event coordination, project management, and community engagement. She has led large-scale workshops and programs both locally and internationally, including initiatives focused on youth development, health promotion, and volunteer mobilization. Her background in human kinetics, leadership in educational conferences, and track record in planning inclusive events make her well-positioned to guide the Foundation’s community initiatives.
Moshfeka contributes expertise in marketing, digital engagement, and data-driven communication strategies. She has successfully managed online campaigns, analytics, and social media content, driving awareness and engagement across multiple audiences. Her skills in stakeholder engagement, campaign management, and creative operations align closely with the Foundation’s efforts to expand outreach and strengthen connections with patients, volunteers, and partners.
Through their combined experience in volunteer leadership, program coordination, and strategic development, Nazanin and Moshfeka bring practical insight and operational knowledge that make them a natural selection for the Foundation’s board.
“Through their involvement with NVOLVE and the Thriving Non-Profits program, Nazanin and Moshfeka have demonstrated strong commitment to community leadership and organizational development,” said Christopher Cutler, Founder & Executive Director. “Their skills and experience will help strengthen our governance and support the Foundation’s mission to improve outcomes for Canadians affected by pancreatic cancer.”
The Heather Cutler Foundation’s Board of Directors continues to bring together leaders from across sectors with experience in policy, community engagement, digital systems, and nonprofit strategy, working collaboratively to ensure equitable access to resources and advocacy for those impacted by pancreatic cancer.
